Sherrone Moore expects star DB Will Johnson to return in 2024

Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines got back on the winning track last Saturday as the Wolverines defeated Michigan State by a score of 24-17 at the Big House. They were able to get the win despite not having arguably the best cornerback in the country Will Johnson, who missed the game with an injury.
Johnson is widely regarded as the best corner in the class and 1 of the best overall players in the 2025 NFL Draft. Michigan is all but eliminated from the College Football Playoff, and certain players in Johnson’s position in college football today would consider sitting out the rest of the season.
Moore on Monday reiterated that isn’t even something Johnson is thinking about.
Michigan’s Will Johnson is “for sure” coming back this season, Sherrone Moore said. He said they’ll see what doctors say this week.

Sherrone Moore on Will Johnson speculation: “Will has no plan of just shutting it down. If he could go out there, he would go out there in a heartbeat. … I know he’ll be back.”

“Will has no plan of just shutting it down,” Moore said. “If he could go out there, he would go out there in a heartbeat. I know he’ll be back.
On the year, Johnson has 2 interceptions, and they have both been returned for touchdowns.
While his status is unknown when exactly he could return moving forward, the Wolverines could definitely use him in their next game. The Wolverines welcome No. 1 Oregon to the Big House for the first time these 2 teams will match up as members of the B1G.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be on CBS.
