Sherrone Moore does not share some of his peers’ spring game concerns, so Michigan will stick to its plan of holding a 2025 spring game. The Wolverine head coach spoke to On3 Sports about the matter on Monday.

Some prominent college football programs are scrapping programs for various reasons. Texas, Nebraska, USC and others have canceled spring games.

There are concerns about wear and tear with the College Football Playoff extending the season. The Longhorns, for instance, played 16 games and would have played a 17th had they defeated Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.

With the increasing popularity of the transfer portal and rampant tampering via NIL, some programs also worry about their spring games serving as a showcase for players to potentially be poached.

Moore isn’t worried that a spring game will cause Michigan to lose more players than if it canceled the game.

“I don’t think the spring game is going to make a big difference in whether your guys get poached or not,” Moore said, per Pete Nakos.

Last month, Michigan announced it will hold the Maize vs. Blue Spring Game on April 19 at Michigan Stadium. Kickoff in the Big House is set for noon ET, with Big Ten Network covering all the action.
