Sherrone Morre and the Michigan Wolverines are preparing to take on Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Eve. During the practices leading up to the bowl, incoming freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood is practicing with the team.

The Wolverines were able to get Underwood to commit after he was originally committed to LSU. He is expected to help get the Michigan offense on the right track after this past season’s struggles, and Moore likes what he has seen during the practices.

“Extremely talented. He has great arm strength,” Moore said during a press conference on Monday. “He can make all the throws. He can run. He’s gonna be an unbelievable player. When that is, I don’t know, and we’ll figure that out.”

Getting Underwood to commit to Michigan was a huge achievement for the Wolverines, as he was the No. 1 player in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The passing game was a major struggle for the Wolverines all season in 2024, as they averaged only 133.6 passing yards, which ranked as the fifth fewest in the country. It was the second fewest in any Power-5 conference, with only Iowa averaging fewer (131.7 yards).

Michigan will cap off its 2024 season on Tuesday with a 12 p.m. ET kickoff the Crimson Tide, but the fans are already clamoring for the Underwood era to begin.
