Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines had a tough game this past Saturday against Texas. The Longhorns took control from the opening kickoff en route to the 31-12 victory.

No stat shows how much of a mismatch the game was than Texas going 10-of-16 on 3rd downs. On the other side of the ball, Michigan was only 3-of-12 offensively on 3rd downs.

A big reason why those 3rd down numbers ended up that was because of a lack of communication, something Moore said the team has to get better in.

“We have to do a better job as a whole group communicating and talking,” Moore said. “Getting aligned and set. Not having these guys running by wide open with certain missed assignments.”

The feeling of a loss is something the Michigan football team didn’t have to experience last year during the national championship run. It is the first loss for Michigan at home since 2020, and the first regular season loss since 2021.

While the team is in unfamiliar territory, Moore said the team isn’t panicking.

“Urgency, it’s not panic,” Moore said. “It stings, it should sting.”

The Wolverines will look to get back on the winning track next Saturday as they host the Arkansas State Red Wolves. Kickoff is schedule for 12 p.m. ET and the game will be on the B1G Network.
