Many didn’t think that Jim Harbaugh would be able to set up shop and recruit top talent in SEC country.

On Friday, Harbaugh got a little closer to proving those doubters wrong.

Michigan picked up a commitment from four-star Georgia cornerback Myles Sims:

Sims is rated the No. 17 cornerback and the No. 135 player overall in the 2018 class. He has offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, USC, Texas and others.

The 6-2.5, 173-pound Atlanta cornerback took an unofficial visit to Michigan last month.

Sims became Michigan’s fourth 2018 commitment and Michigan’s second pledge from Georgia. Four-star Georgia linebacker Otis Reese committed to the Wolverines last summer. Michigan also signed five-star Georgia defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon to its 2017 class.

With Sims’ commitment, Michigan’s 2018 group is ranked No. 17 overall in the 247sports class rankings.

The Wolverines will host their spring game on Saturday, April 15.
