Skip Bayless is putting his money on Michigan.

The FOX Sports personality has been high on Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines all season long, but he paid them the ultimate compliment on Wednesday. During Undisputed, Bayless said that he believes Michigan has everything it needs to beat Alabama.

Yes, that Alabama.

“I think Michigan has all the components to beat Alabama,” Bayless said. “And I know, Alabama with Tua [Tagovailoa] at quarterback is flying as high as any college football team I can remember in all my years of watching college football.”

“Michigan, right now, is number one in pass defense in college football. Don Brown is the best defensive coordinator in college football and he just proves it year after year…They’re also first in yards allowed, so it’s a really good defense.”

Bayless is right about Michigan’s defense this season. Through eight games, the Wolverines rank in the top 10 nationally in scoring defense and rush defense and own the country’s top pass defense and total defense.

The offense has come along quite nicely too. Shea Patterson hasn’t put up the eye-popping numbers like Tagovailoa, but he’s come through in big-time situations this year.

And Karan Higdon has been a bruiser out of the backfield for the Wolverines. He’s totaled 831 yards and six touchdowns for the year.

“Can [Michigan] ball control you? Can they win the clock? In time of possession, they’re seventh in the country,” Bayless said.

“Again, they gotta close the deal. Penn State, then they have to go to Ohio State…so we’ll see. But if they could get through it, would they get a shot at Alabama? I would give them the best shot of anyone I’ve seen so far.”
