Michigan softball is getting set to begin its NCAA Tournament run as a part of the Orlando Regional. First pitch is Friday, and that start time will be a little sooner than originally expected due to inclement weather on the horizon.
Originally scheduled for 3:30 pm ET, the matchup against South Dakota State will now begin at 11 am ET. The Villanova vs. UCF matchup originally set for 6 pm is now scheduled to immediately follow the first game with an estimated start time of 1:30 pm.
Due to inclement weather in the area, the NCAA has altered the schedule of Friday’s games to ensure the safety of the players, fans and staff at the UCF Softball Complex.

According to the forecast, Orlando is due to get thunderstorms in the afternoon and into Friday evening. There is a 32% chance of storms beginning at 11 am that rises to 61% by 2 pm, so it will be interesting to see if the games are played without a hitch.
If Michigan wins, the Wolverines will play Saturday at 11 am. A loss would put the Wolverines in action at 1:30 pm on Saturday. Friday’s action will be aired on ESPN+.
