Stephen A. Smith offered a terrible idea regarding the Rose Bowl Game, and his “First Take” co-hosts did not have anything to do with the proposal.

During Wednesday’s broadcast, Smith proposed either moving the Rose Bowl Game away from the iconic venue in Pasadena or arriving at the Rose Bowl via a helicopter. He pointed to awful traffic as his reasoning for the idea of moving the game to SoFi Stadium.

“SoFi, I mean, have you been there? Let me tell you something: This is a spectacular stadium,” claimed Smith. “And all I’m trying to say is this: You’ve got 100,000 people showing up, and we literally — you literally get off the highway, so traffic is backed up for a mile… It’s only one lane and 100,000 people. I mean, damn! It’s difficult to get to the damn game! I’m just saying.”

The idea of moving the iconic game is downright blasphemous, and his co-hosts roasted Smith over complaining about the traffic on New Year’s Day.

“You know how many people wish they could have been at that game? And here you are complaining you had to sit a little longer,” criticized host Molly Qerim.

“This man is horrible. He is absolutely horrible,” said Marcus Spears.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit has taken an opposite approach, campaigning to have the Rose Bowl serve as the permanent host site for the national championship game. That’s unlikely to happen for a variety of reasons, but the iconic venue belongs among the all-time jewels of college football.
