Stephen Ross, the owner of the Miami Dolphins, issued a statement about his suspension and the penalties from the NFL.

Ross was suspended until Oct. 17 for tampering violations with Tom Brady and Sean Payton that happened from 2019 to 2022. The NFL issued a harsh punishment to Ross and the Dolphins by fining the organization and stripping draft picks from the team in 2023 and 2024.

Ross commented on the tanking allegations and the tampering violations:

“The independent investigation cleared our organization on any issues related to tanking and all of Brian Flores other allegations,” Ross said. “As I have said all along, these allegations were false, malicious and defamatory, and this issue is now put to rest. With regards to tampering, I strongly disagree with the conclusions and the punishment. However, I will accept the outcome because the most important thing is that there be no distractions for our team as we begin an exciting and winning season. I will not allow anything to get in the way of that.”

Ross will be away from his team for the next 2 months and he will accept the NFL’s ruling. While disagreeing with the conclusions, Ross did not want to distract his team during training camp and the start of the season.
