Tom Brady has been away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since Aug. 11. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles was asked for the latest on Thursday.

Bowles reiterated that Brady’s return would be after the Tennessee game on Saturday night in Nashville. ESPN’s Jenna Laine writes that Brady’s absence for “personal things” was pre-planned. Despite that, Bowles did not have a date for Brady’s return to the team.

“We’ll see,” Bowles said Thursday, per Laine. “We’ll talk about it next week. Not concerned about it right now. We’re trying to practice against Tennessee and play a game. I said ‘sometime after Tennessee.’ There’s no definitive date for me. But we’ll check on it, we’ll keep in touch and we’ll find out.”

In his 23-year NFL career, Brady has previously taken days off in preseason, but this is the first notable extended absence from training camp. Laine notes that Brady missed spring OTAs in 2018 with the Patriots to spend time with family.

The next practice after the game against Tennessee would be Aug. 22.
