Friday was an eventful and historic day for former Michigan offensive lineman Taylor Lewan.

It started when Lewan, who has been a member of the Tennessee Titans since 2014, signed a five-year, $80 million deal to remain in Nashville, the richest contract for an offensive lineman in the history of the NFL. $50 million of that contract is guaranteed.

That, alone, makes for a pretty incredible day. But the fun didn’t end when Lewan signed on the dotted line.

After the report that Lewan had inked the enormous deal, the two-time Pro Bowler met addressed the media in a way that seems truly appropriate for Nashville.

Lewan was dressed in an all-white suit and cowboy hat, depicting Dukes of Hazzard character Boss Hogg. Yes, it’s funny and incredible at the same time. He even brought a few friends to stand with him as he stood in front of the media.

The getup and reference is pretty appropriate. Not only does the old show Dukes of Hazzard represent Tennessee and the South, Boss Hogg feels like an appropriate nickname for Lewan. Offensive lineman are often referred to as “hogs” and, well, Lewan pretty much became the biggest boss in town after signing that massive contract.

Hopefully more players take after Lewan and add a little something to their press conferences the next time they sign a massive deal.
