Tennessee officially announces former Michigan LBs coach as new assistant
Brian Jean-Mary is officially a member of the Tennessee staff.
On Thursday, the school announced Jean-Mary’s hiring. He was previously the linebackers coach at Michigan, where he spent the 2020 season. He will hold the same title as linebackers coach with the Volunteers.
Jean-Mary was on staff at Michigan for just one season. He has previously served as the defensive coordinator at USF under head coach Charlie Strong.

The 45-year-old assistant also worked for Strong at Texas and Louisville.
Jean-Mary had previously interviewed to join Urban Meyer’s staff with the Jacksonville Jaguars, initially beginning the rumors that Michigan might be looking for a new linebackers coach. Even though he’s not off to the NFL, the Wolverines will still have to fill the spot this offseason.
Michigan ended the 2020 season with a 2-4 record.
