Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were embarrassed on Sunday at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. The loss was also to Brock Purdy in his first NFL start no less.

Tampa Bay was beaten soundly on both sides of the ball in the 35-7 defeat. Brady finished the game with 253 yards passing as well as 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. The Bucs are now 6-7 as their lead in the NFC South begins to dwindle with the Carolina Panthers on their heels.

Brady knows that the NFL is a tough game and every week you have the chance to get embarrassed like that. All you can do is pick yourself up and move on to the next game.

“Look, in the NFL you play a really tough game, you play a tough team on the road. They’re physical, they’re tough, they kicked our ass. It’s the reality of this sport, and every time you take the field, you have the opportunity to get your ass kicked or to kick ass. Obviously we’re on the wrong end of it today, but you’ve got to put the work in and dig deep.”

Brady gets a chance to move on from the loss with a game against the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday. Kickoff from Tampa Bay will be at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
