Even Tom Brady wants in on the April Fools’ Day action. His joke certainly received plenty of attention.

On Monday, Brady — who previously did not have a Twitter account — finally decided to join the social media juggernaut after staying unplugged for several years. His first day on the platform was on April Fools’ Day, meaning he had to come up with something good for his first ever tweet.

Patriots fans probably fainted. Other NFL fans were celebrating. And then, the roles were reversed.

“I’m retiring. In my spare time, I’ll be tweeting #LFG,” Brady wrote on Twitter.

Not a bad way to kickstart your Twitter page, although there are probably several fans angry that this was just a joke. Hopefully the celebrations didn’t get too deep before they realized Brady was just jumping in on the April Fools’ Day action.

At age 41, Brady just won his sixth Super Bowl title with the New England Patriots. Even at this stage in his career, the Hall of Fame quarterback has shown absolutely no signs of slowing down and plans to play for at least a few more seasons.
