Remember Michigan football just before the year 2000?

The Wolverines had a QB named Tom Brady. Brady didn’t play much his first 2 seasons, attempting just 20 passes, but his junior and senior seasons were productive ones.

Brady ended up throwing for 4,773 yards, 30 TD and 17 INT throughout his time at Michigan. To give a little comparison, current Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins has thrown for 4,580 yards, 47 TD and 8 INT this season alone.

Haskins isn’t better than Brady, and yes, times have changed.

We all know what happened to Brady post-Michigan. All he has done is win a bunch of Super Bowls, MVP awards, been to 13 Pro Bowls, and a number of other incredible accomplishments.

One thing he hadn’t done up until Sunday, however, was throw for more TDs than Peyton Manning. The two somewhat grew up together in the NFL and could have been called rivals as the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots were always seemingly neck-and-neck in the AFC.

Manning has of course retired, but he threw for 579 TDs throughout his career. Coming into Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, Brady also had thrown 579 TDs.

He of course broke that mark against the Dolphins:

Brady threw a 2-yard TD pass to WR Julian Edelman in the second quarter, breaking the record with what is now 580 TD passes.

Brady’s been phenomenal. We’ve all known this. But it’s records like this that can make you stop and think, respecting what the former Wolverine has done at the highest level.
