Upton Stout began the offseason as one of the key names to watch in the transfer portal. The defensive back spent 2 years at North Texas before transferring to Western Kentucky, opting to enter the portal once more after 2 seasons there.

Michigan was trending as a favorite to land the services of Stout as it looked to add to its DB corps. However, according to 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz, Stout will instead return to the Hilltoppers for the 2024 campaign.

Stout signed with North Texas out of the 2020 recruiting class and recorded 35 tackles as a true freshman. He played 4 games in 2021 before entering the transfer portal.

In 2022, his 1st season with Western Kentucky, he made 44 tackles and totaled 4 interceptions. He was credited with 29 stops, 1 intercption, and 8 passes defensed in 2023.

Now, instead of heading to the B1G with 2 years of eligibility remaining, Stout will remain at WKU and suit up with the Hilltopers once more.
