A veteran defensive lineman from Michigan has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Rivals.com reported the news on Tuesday.

Jack Stewart, a senior defensive lineman, has decided to explore his options outside of Ann Arbor. His decision comes just a few weeks after the Wolverines closed the book on the spring practice schedule.

Michigan held its spring game on Saturday, April 2. It was the first team to close spring practice.

Stewart has been at Michigan since 2019. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound lineman did not see any game action during his three seasons with the program. He will still have three years of eligibility to use because of his redshirt status, as well as the 2020 COVID-19 waiver season.

Stewart will be a graduate transfer and will have immediate eligibility, as well.

Stewart was a member of Michigan’s 2019 recruiting class. The 3-star prospect out of Connecticut received offers from 17 other programs. He picked the Wolverines over Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ole Miss, Rutgers, TCU, Texas A&M and others.

Michigan ended the 2021 season with a 12-2 record, a win over Ohio State and a B1G title.
