WATCH: After slow start, Michigan's defense comes alive in comeback win over Northwestern
It wasn’t pretty, but the Wolverines found a way to rally and avoid the upset on the road.
Michigan found itself in an early 17-0 hole after an abysmal start against Northwestern Saturday. The Wildcats came out ready to play and carried a 17-7 lead into halftime.
It looked like Northwestern was geared up for a serious upset bid, but the Wolverines were having none of it. Despite a sluggish start on both sides of the ball, Michigan’s defense rallied and shutdown the Wildcats after the break.
Michigan did not allow any points in the second half and did just enough on offense behind QB Shea Patterson to escape with the win. The big star of the game was Michigan’s defensive unit, and Michigan Football shared a video of the highlights from the strong performance on Sunday:
