Chase Winovich is wasting no time showing what he can do in the NFL.

The New England Patriots rookie is off to a hot start, and he’s doing it right down the street from his alma mater. Winovich’s first preseason action came Thursday in a game against the Detroit Lions.

He has looked impressive on a couple of different occasions throughout the game and came up with a big play on this second down. Detroit’s quarterback dropped back on what looked to be a routine pass play, but he simply never had any time.

Winovich beat his man off the ball with an impressive speed move and was on the quarterback in an instant:

This type of play is no surprise to Michigan fans. Winovich ended his career with 43 TFL and 18.5 sacks.
