It took a while to get the game started, but Michigan’s defense is flying around early against Maryland.

While Michigan’s offense has struggled at times this season, the defense has been consistently strong from the start. In fact, it was the defense that kick started the comeback against Northwestern last week.

Maryland came into Saturday’s game against the Wolverines as underdogs, but the Terrapins are having a solid year and will look to play tough. Unfortunately for QB Kasim Hill, he had to deal with one hard hit early on.

Hill had scrambled out of the pocket and was looking downfield when Devin Bush broke free and barreled down on the QB. Hill was able to get rid of the ball, but Bush still squared up a massive hit.

Bush did hit Hill up high, but it appeared he was able to stay low enough to avoid head-to-head contact and the dreaded targeting call. No flag was thrown for the hit. Tradition’s own Dustin Schutte shared the video of Bush laying the lumber:
