WATCH: Jimmy Kerr belts a two-run homer to extend Michigan's lead
Jimmy Kerr has been a machine at the plate in the College World Series, and he delivered again on Monday night.
With the Wolverines caught in a tight 4-3 game against Vanderbilt in the top of the 7th inning, Kerr stepped into the batter’s box with a chance to help extend the UM lead. That’s exactly what he did.
Kerr blasted a shot over the right field wall for a two-run home run, increasing Michigan’s lead to 6-3 in the top of the inning. It was his seventh dinger of the NCAA Tournament and third in the College World Series.

Kerr was 0-for-3 on the afternoon when he stepped to the plate in the 7th and was facing an 0-2 count. But, as he’s done all tournament long, he delivered when Michigan needed a big hit.
The Wolverines jumped out to an early 4-0 lead but Vanderbilt has clawed its way back into the contest. Kerr’s two-run bomb couldn’t have come at a better time.
