Michigan might’ve found its new starting quarterback.
After John O’Korn got off to a sluggish start against Rutgers — 3-of-6 for 13 yards and an interception — Jim Harbaugh opted to put freshman Brandon Peters in the game to try and give the Wolverines a spark. The previous third-string quarterback did exactly that.
Peters completed his first three passes for 37 yards and leading Michigan on a scoring drive to go ahead 14-7, it looked like the Wolverines had found its new gunslinger. On the next possession, he may have solidified his role.
The freshman threw his first touchdown pass of his collegiate career against the Scarlet Knights, finding running back Chris Evans for a 20-yard completion in the end zone.

Peters finished the first half completing 5-of-7 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown and led two Michigan scoring drives. Thanks to his efforts, the Wolverines took a 21-7 over Rutgers into the locker room.
Michigan’s offense sure does look a lot different with the former four-star quarterback under center.
