Michigan's Chase Winovich explains extremely odd celebration after sacking Nebraska's QB
Michigan had plenty to celebrate in its 56-10 win over Nebraska on Saturday afternoon. It had so much to celebrate, actually, that players started to run out of the typical big-play celebrations.
Things ended up getting really weird for Chase Winovich and Michigan on the celebrations. Like, really weird.
After coming up with a big sack on Huskers quarterback Adrian Martinez, Winovich felt the need to “rip his heart out.” But the celebration didn’t stop there. The defensive end then motioned as if he was eating his own heart.
Yeah, it’s pretty bizarre. And honestly, his explanation didn’t really help his case.

“That’s kind of where I was at with that one,” Winovich said. “Some people thought I was eating a grenade. That was not the case. That was taking my own heart and eating it.”
Um…what?
Winovich is one of the best defensive linemen in the B1G, there’s no questioning that. But after that celebration, and explanation, he may hold a temporary title as the oddest, too.
Maybe next week he’ll have a little more normal celebration.
