There’s still a few days before Michigan and South Carolina square off in the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day, but things are already getting heated between the two teams.

During an Outback Bowl event on Wednesday night, the two teams got into a bit of a shouting match, forcing the two teams to be separated. It doesn’t appear that an actual altercation transpired, but words were definitely exchanged.

Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News captured the instance on camera and posted it to her Twitter account. She said that one Michigan player told her that South Carolina players “started talking trash.”

Both Michigan and South Carolina enter the Outback Bowl with 8-4 records and are hoping for a win in Monday’s game to spring forward into the 2018 season.

The game already had that B1G-SEC flavor, but now it’s got even more juice. It should be fun when Michigan and South Carolina kickoff from Tampa on Jan. 1.
