Don’t look now, but Michigan is 5-0 and jumped six spots to No. 8 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll, thanks to a 38-17 throttling of Wisconsin over the weekend.

The fast start is the best for UM since 2016, and the win over the Badgers was much in part to the Wolverines defense clamping down and forcing three-straight three-and-uts to start the game, and then following up by holding Wisconsin to 71 yards of offense in the second half.

After the Badgers marched 63 yards over three plays to find the endzone at the end of the first half, UM outscored Wisconsin 25-7 the rest of the way.

Michigan visits Nebraska this Saturday, Oct. 9 with a 7:30 PM kick off. The Cornhuskers are coming off a 56-7 blasting of Northwestern.

UM head coach Jim Harbuagh met with the media on Monday to discuss the plan for the Huskers, as well as some comments on the win over Wisconsin.
