What Jim Harbaugh said following blowout win over Northwestern
Michigan might have started slowly against Northwestern, but once the Wolverines got rolling, there was no looking back.
The two sides went scoreless in the first quarter before trading scores in the second. At the half, Michigan held a 10-7 lead over the Wildcats.
A turnover by the Wolverines just before the break kept things close, but they broke it open in the second half. Michigan scored the final 23 points in the 33-7 win. It moves the Wolverines to 7-0 heading into next week’s massive showdown against Michigan State.
In the game against the Wildcats, it was once again the ground game of Michigan that proved to be key. Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins both eclipsed 100 yards rushing with 4 TDs between the duo. Quarterback Cade McNamara went 20-for-27 passing without a turnover but he managed just 127 yards through the air.
Here’s what Jim Harbaugh had to say after the win with a key rivalry matchup in store for Week 9:
"I thought our guys did another great job of just focusing on the next game. You have the practice it and do it and keep the focus on the game in front of you. I thought our team did a great job of that. Now, we start that process for the next opponent." –Jim Harbaugh

Jim Harbaugh says that even when Aidan Hutchinson isn’t getting sacks or pressures, “he makes the ball come out quick. Can imagine what that does for the secondary.”

Harbaugh was asked if he needs more of a dynamic passing game against better teams, and he said: "I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it other than we forced some deep balls."

"I thought we did some good things in the passing game. We had 20 third downs and picked up 12, a lot of them through the air. Moving the ball, we did that. I don't think there's anything wrong with it other than we forced a few deep ball." – Jim Harbaugh
