Brady released a heartfelt statement on the passing of Bryant and his daughter on Tuesday, just one day after memorial services were held. In his message, which he shared on Twitter, Brady revealed what he’s learned in the weeks that have passed since the tragic helicopter accident in California, and how he’s looked in the mirror to reflect on his life.

The statement was titled “What’s really important?”

“I have been deeply affected by the passing of Kobe, Gigi and there others in that tragic flight weeks ago. Since then, I’ve witnessed the well deserved outpouring of love and support for the families that had so much left to give, and it’s helped me reflect and gain perspective,” Brady wrote. “I know that love peace and joy will always educe. And in this tragedy, I have learned so much. Why has this touched me in a way it ? Why has it kept me up at night and brought me so many tears?”
