Will Johnson is Michigan’s 5-star true freshman cornerback. He came up with a huge play in the third quarter of the B1G Championship Game against Purdue.

On one play, Johnson found himself in man-to-man coverage on All-B1G receiver Charlie Jones. Michigan’s pass rush put the pressure on Aidan O’Connell and forced a quick throw.

While Jones had a chance to potentially beat Johnson to the corner, O’Connell’s throw went to the inside. Johnson was quicker to adjust than Jones, cutting off the pass and grabbing the interception just in front of the goal line.

Michigan was unable to do anything on the ensuing possession but it is a huge takeaway for the Wolverines. Johnson’s pick also took away a serious threat by the Boilermakers.
