Will Johnson and Michigan are on the road against Minnesota with the Little Brown Jug on the line. However, the Wolverines have bigger goals and expectations this season after a No. 2 ranking through 5 weeks of the season.

Coming into the game, both teams are known for a strong rushing attack and ground-and-pound offensive style. However, the Gophers tried to flip the script with some early passes on the game’s opening drive.

That game plan was flipped on its head. Minnesota QB Athan Kaliakmanis soared a pass into double coverage near the sideline with Johnson swooping in for the easy interception.

After grabbing the interception, Johnson had a clear path down the sideline all the way to the end zone for the game’s opening score. Minnesota will try to regroup, but look for Johnson and the Wolverines to keep the pressure on Kaliakmanis all game long:

The interception is the 4th of Johnson’s career but is his first of the 2023 season. It is also the first pick-6 of Johnson’s strong career so far.
