Will Johnson provides early outlook for Rose Bowl availability vs. Alabama
Will Johnson is a key cornerback for Michigan’s defense and one of the top cover men for the Wolverines. He unfortunately missed the Big Ten Championship win with an injury, but he expects to be good to go for the Rose Bowl matchup against Alabama.
While hosting a Sunday toy drive with teammate Semaj Morgan, Johnson indicated he’s “feeling good” and intends to suit up for the College Football Playoff. Without any setbacks, he’ll be “100%” to play on New Year’s Day.
“For sure I’ll be out there,” Johnson said per Alejandro Zuniga with 247 Sports. “I feel good. I feel real good.”

This season, Johnson finished second on the Wolverines with 3 interceptions and tied for second with 4 pass breakups. He produced 2 tackles and a key interception against Ohio State while serving as the main cover man opposite of Marvin Harrison Jr.
The secondary has been a strength for Michigan this season with Johnson, Mike Sainristil, Rod Moore and Keon Sabb producing multiple interceptions. The Wolverines are giving up 153 passing yards per game and allowing a stingy 54.5% completion percentage, but getting Johnson back to face the Crimson Tide and QB Jalen Milroe will be important for the Rose Bowl.
