4-star CB in 2019 recruiting class gives verbal pledge to Michigan State
With Michigan State locking up its 2018 recruiting class by Wednesday afternoon, Mark Dantonio and the Spartans can start looking ahead to rounding up the 2019 class.
And they were able to secure a verbal commitment from one of the top in-state players in that 2019 class on Friday.
Julian Barnett, a four-star cornerback/wide receiver out of Belleville, Michigan, announced his commitment to Michigan State via Twitter to close out the week. He becomes the third commit of the class, all of which are as four-star prospects.
Barnett is the highest rated right now.

At 6-foot-1, 186 pounds, Barnett is ranked as the second-best player out of Michigan and the third-best cornerback in the 2019 class. He has nationally ranking of No. 60.
Only a junior, Barnett has raked in 21 offers from elite programs across the country. He committed to the Spartans over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Clemson.
With the commitment, Michigan State now has the 14th-ranked class of 2019 and the No. 4 class in the B1G.
