A few weeks was all the longer Justin Stevens’ commitment to Central Michigan lasted. He’s now decided to play for a different program.

Matt Wenzel of MLive.com reported on Wednesday that Stevens is no longer planning to transfer to Central Michigan and instead will head to South Alabama. The former Michigan State offensive lineman has also changed his profile picture on Twitter to an image of himself in a Jaguars uniform.

Stevens entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal following the conclusion of Michigan State’s spring practice. He is one of multiple players to make that decision since late April.

The Spartans were 2-5 last season with wins over Michigan and Northwestern.

Stevens was a member of Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class and spent one season with the program before deciding to transfer out. He opted out of playing last fall because of the COVID-19 pandemic and still has all four years of eligibility remaining.

At South Alabama, Stevens will play for Kane Wommack, the former Indiana defensive coordinator who took the head coaching job at the end of the 2020 season.
