Aidan Chiles is in the transfer portal after one season at Oregon State. His ties to head coach Jonathan Smith are undeniable, and the former 4-star recruit is taking a visit to Michigan State with Smith taking over the program.

Saturday evening, Chiles posted a brief message on social media. He dropped a pin with the note of “East Lansing, MI” on X (formerly Twitter) to signify his visit to the Spartans.

As a true freshman, Chiles completed 24-of-35 passes for 309 yards and 4 touchdowns without an interception while also rushing for 3 touchdowns. He backed up DJ Uiagalelei throughout the season but provided a glimpse of his talent and playmaking ability with the Beavers.

Coming out of high school, the 6-foot-4 Chiles was rated a 4-star recruit and the No. 12 QB in the 2023 recruiting class by the 247 Sports Composite. Upon entering the portal, it was expected that Michigan State would be a location to watch due to Chiles’ connection to Smith.

We’ll see how things shape up after the visit, but this could be the first step for Chiles’ eventual move to Michigan State.
