Brown was able to gesture to the crowd as he was being carted off the field:

Brown is making his Michigan State debut in this game. He transferred in from Nebraska earlier this offseason. He played in 30 games for the Huskers from 2020-22 and was a starter for them last season.

In 2022, Brown caught 16 passes for 191 yards. He has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Michigan State has not yet given an update on his status as of publication.

The Spartans will be hoping to get off to a good start in 2023 with a win over the Chippewas. Last year, Michigan State went 5-7 and missed the postseason.

Michigan State is 8-3 all-time against CMU.
