On Thursday, it became known that the Michigan State Spartans were losing out on their fifth player within the last month to the transfer portal.

That player was Cam Chambers, a wide receiver. He was the fourth offensive player — of the five — to enter the portal.

Now, on Friday, just one day after the Chambers broke, Spartans tight end Noah Davis is also testing the transfer portal. He is now the sixth Spartans player — fifth on the offensive side of the ball — to go this route in the last month:

Davis has played 32 offensive snaps in four games this season. He has not caught a pass. Again, maybe these players are all transferring because they aren’t seeing significant playing time (some more than others).

Or maybe, there’s a problem in East Lansing right now.

It’s likely the latter.
