B1G commissioner Kevin Warren releases statement on Michigan State's new AD hire
Michigan State hired Alan Haller to be their next AD earlier on Wednesday and B1G Commissioner Kevin Warren has released a statement to give his thoughts on it.
Tom Izzo and Mel Tucker already released theirs earlier in the day as they vouched for it and Warren’s was no different.

Part of Warren’s statement says, “Alan has made a positive impact in East Lansing since he arrived on campus as a student-athlete. Prior to his tenure as a professional football player, a member of the law enforcement and as an administrator at MSU, Alan had a transformational experience as a Spartan student-athlete. We look forward to working closely with Alan as he leads MSU athletics.”
Warren’s son, Powers Warren, plays tight end for the Spartans. He transferred to Michigan State earlier this offseason after spending three seasons with Mississippi State.
Alan is signed through 2026 as AD at MSU and will most certainly get another contract extension if he does a great job leading the Spartans’ athletics. Prior to being named the AD, he was “deputy director” behind Bill Beekman, who was the AD before he moved to a new position.
