Le'Veon Bell didn't make Steelers fans happy with his April Fools' joke
In today’s world of social media, it’s obviously important to be skeptical of what gets thrown out there.
On April Fools Day, that notion is cranked up to 11.
Former Michigan State star Le’Veon Bell thought he would have a little April Fools’ Day fun by tweeting that he was living the Pittsburgh Steelers:
it's been a great run with Steeler Nation, I will always have love 4 all my former teammates, coaches, & for all my fans! but gotta move on!
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) April 1, 2016
Apparently Steeler fans forgot what day it was. Bell’s tweet got over 1,400 retweets, and a slew of sad comments from Steeler fans.

@CnicNFL @L_Bell26 it better be before I drive to Pittsburgh and find him 😤

@L_Bell26 you almost gave me a heartattack until I realized what day it is

Obviously Bell wouldn’t leave Pittsburgh when he’s still on his rookie deal and widely considered one of the best backs in the NFL.
Still, he let people squirm for a solid hour-and-a-half before letting them know that he wasn’t going anywhere.
LOL!!! some fell for it, some didn't…but anyways APRIL FOOLS!

Even though Bell joked about leaving the Steelers, he could realistically fire off the same tweet for real next year. The 2014 First-team All-Pro will be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end. Given his body of work so far, he’ll be one of the more highly sought-after free agents.
And judging by the comments from Steeler fans, they wouldn’t mind seeing their team break the bank to keep him.
