Michigan State is looking to reload via the 2023 recruiting class, and a key in-state prospect is still considering the Spartans.

The player is Braelon Green, a 4-star combo guard out of Southfield, Michigan. Green released his top-5 list on Wednesday, and the Spartans are still in the mix.

Michigan State was included alongside Arizona State, Kansas, Tennessee and Texas.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 175 lbs., the 247 Sports Composite Rankings list Green as the No. 4 player out of Michigan and No. 12 combo guard nationally for the class of 2024. He is also the 59th player nationally regardless of position.

As things currently stand, Michigan State’s 2024 recruiting class ranks 15th in the nation. The Spartans have just one commitment in 4-star PG Jeremy Fears. Fears is the No. 37 player nationally for the cycle.

Getting a commitment from Green alongside Fears would be the beginning of a promising recruiting class for Tom Izzo and the Spartans. Michigan State pulled in the 53rd-best recruiting class in the nation for 2022.
