Michigan State, over the last few years, has had a number of impressive teams and quarterbacks leading those teams.

Guys like Drew Stanton might not become NFL Hall of Famers, but they can still be considerably effective collegiate quarterbacks. On Saturday, current Spartan QB Brian Lewerke reached career numbers that only certain signal callers have achieved before him.

In particular, Lewerke is now a part of the 6,000 yard passing and 1,000 yard rushing club. Which other Spartans have done that?

Only Stanton:

Lewerke helped lead Michigan State to a narrow 40-31 victory over Indiana Saturday afternoon. The senior led a game-winning drive with just 2:00 remaining when the score was tied at 31.

Lewerke not only wins games. But he has been one of the most effective Spartan QBs to ever put a helmet on.
