B1G analyst Gerry DiNardo gave a bold take on his most improved team through the Big Ten Network’s tour stop. DiNardo believes the Michigan State Spartans are the most improved team this offseason compared to last season.

Michigan State accumulated an overall record of 5-7 (3-6 in B1G play) last season and also finished 5th in the B1G East.

The Spartans were one of the most disappointing teams this past season as they accounted for an overall record of 11-2 (7-2 in B1G play) and finished 9th in the AP Poll. One of the biggest reasons for the drop in productivity on the field was the loss of key talent like Doak Walker Award-winning running back Kenneth Walker III.

Mel Tucker is entering his 4th season as head coach of the Spartans and is on the hot seat after the disappointing season. Michigan State is projected to finish 5th in the B1G East Division, according to the B1G Preseason Media.
