Bates has received major offers from Michigan, Kentucky and Florida State in addition to Michigan State. The 6-foot-8 prospect from Ypsi Prep Academy could also play in Europe or take a shot at the NBA G League if he doesn’t want to play at the college level.
Bates was the only player committed to Michigan State’s 2022 recruiting class.
