Coen Carr is accustomed to throwing down dunks for Michigan State and getting alley-oop passes from his teammates. However, he was probably not expecting to find a pass up top on this play.

In the first half against Nebraska, the Spartans had possession with Jeremy Fears Jr. slipping to the ground near the 3-point line. Fears maintained control of the ball while seated on the floor, and he managed to look up with the defense surrounding him.

During the momentary mayhem, Carr was left unaccounted for behind the defense on the low block. Fears took the gamble, tossing a pass high enough to get over the defense, and Carr did the rest.

The result was another emphatic jam for Carr — and an assist for Fears while sitting on his backside! Check it out:

Michigan State was able to build its lead to 41-31 at halftime behind 9 points each from Jaden Akins and Jase Richardson. The Spartans did a good job distributing the ball before the break with 9 assists — 6 of them from Fears — on 13 made field goals.

Even with some sketchy 3-point shooting, Michigan State has been largely in control of this game due to some impressive work on the glass. We’ll see if the Spartans are able to keep it up and secure the win over the Huskers.
