Cole Dellinger announced his college decision Friday, picking to stay home at Michigan State over other finalists in Purdue and LSU. A native of Clarkston, Dellinger is rated a 4-star offensive lineman and the 5th overall prospect out of Michigan for the class of 2023.

After his announcement, Dellinger sat down with Clint Cosgrove of Rivals to discuss his decision. Dellinger specifically pointed to the coaching staff of the Spartans and the academics provided by Michigan State.

“I chose Michigan State because the coaching staff is the best in the country,” said Dellinger. “You’ve got coach Tucker, best head coach. Coach Kap (Chris Kapilovic), the best offensive line coach out there. They have the academics I want, they have the major I need.

“I just knew this was the time I wanted to do it. There wasn’t any reason to keep playing my recruiting. I knew where I wanted to go so I just decided to go for it.”
