David Stone will make his college commitment in the coming weeks.

His announcement is set for Aug. 26, he announced on Thursday. He’s still considering 6 finalists: Michigan State, Miami, Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Florida.

Here’s his announcement:

Stone is an elite prospect regardless of position. He’s the No. 6 overall player and the No. 2 player at his position in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 3 player from the state of Florida.

Stone has been a longtime target for Michigan State. He took an official visit to East Lansing last month.

He attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. However, he’s originally from Oklahoma City. Michigan State’s top-ranked recruit in 2023 — Bai Jobe — is also from Oklahoma.

Michigan State has 12 commits so far in the class of 2024. The group sits at No. 49 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
