Coming into Week 4, Michigan State and Nebraska have been teams on separate trends to start 2021.

For Mel Tucker and the Spartans, things have been impressive with a 3-0 record. Michigan State has scored 30+ points in every game while winning every game by double digits. That even includes two road trips: at Northwestern to open the season and at Miami in Week 3.

For Scott Frost and the Huskers, results have continued to be inconsistent to open the year. Nebraska has lost both its games against Power 5 opponents (Illinois to start the season and against Oklahoma in Week 3) with blowout wins over Fordham and Buffalo.

Michigan State is up to No. 20 on the AP Poll and riding high behind the play of running back Kenneth Walker III. Nebraska remains unranked and continues to do itself in with bad mistakes and sloppy penalties in key moments.

That makes it no surprise that ESPN’s FPI is favoring the Spartans by a heavy margin for Nebraska’s visit to East Lansing. The FPI is giving Michigan State a 73.4% chance of coming away with the win Saturday.

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7 pm EST on FS1. Can Nebraska notch its first upset of the season, or will the Spartans roll to 4-0?
