Michigan State beat Pittsburgh 31-21 in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Thursday. The Spartans had an insane comeback in the last 8 minutes of the game. Michigan State’s Payton Thorne threw 2 touchdown passes, followed by a pick 6 by LB Cal Haladay to secure the win late in the 4th quarter.

Then just one day after the game, ex-MSU safety Michael Dowell transferred to Pitt. Dowell had 82 total tackles, 29 assisted tackles, and 5 pass deflections in his career with the Spartans. He announced his commitment to the Panthers from his Twitter account on Friday.

Here’s what he had to say about his decision:

“No need in running it back if you’re gonna just do the same thing over and over again when you lose,” said Dowell. “See a problem, solve a problem, get back to business.”

Dowell appeared in all 12 games for Michigan in the 2021 season. Now, Dowell will be moving from East Lansing to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Honestly, this isn’t even on the list of weirdest things to happen in the 2021 Bowl Season.
