A former Michigan State defensive lineman has found a new home since entering the transfer portal. DL Kyle King is headed to the MAC to play for the Ball State Cardinals.

King played sparingly for the Spartans this season; he played in 4 games recording 4 tackles, 2 pass deflections, 1 sack and a tackle for loss.

According to King’s Twitter, Ball State was the first offer he ever got to play college football.

The Spartans had an incredible season under 2nd-year head coach Mel Tucker; they finished the season 11-2 and 7-2 in the B1G. Michigan State capped off the season with a 31-21 Peach Bowl win over No. 12 Pitt.

The Spartans’ only two losses were on the road against Purdue and Ohio State. They had big wins over rivals such as Michigan and Penn State.

It will be interesting to see what Tucker’s group can do in the 2022 season without star RB Kenneth Walker III, which we already got a bit of a glimpse of in the Peach Bowl. There is a demanding schedule upcoming in 2022 for  Tucker and the Spartans.
