A Michigan State wide receiver has set a visit to Syracuse, according to a report from FanNation.

CJ Hayes will be visiting Syracuse on the weekend of Jan. 21, per the report. He’s already been offered by the Orange after spending 5 seasons with the Spartans. He hit the transfer portal following the 2021 season.

Hayes started his career in East Lansing as a wide receiver but was moved to safety. The senior is being recruited as a receiver by Syracuse.

During his time at Michigan State, Hayes appeared in 23 games. During the Spartans’ 11-2 campaign in 2021, he played in 6 contests but did not record any statistics, per his player profile on the school’s website.

Hayes leaves Michigan State having caught 14 passes for 154 yards. His best year came in 2019, when he played in 11 games and hauled in 13 receptions for 141 yards. That was Mark Dantonio’s final season as the head coach of the Spartans.

Hayes will have 1 year of eligibility to use at his next destination.
