Ex-MSU RB hits Paul Bunyan pose after scoring Western Michigan's first TD in Ann Arbor
A former Michigan State running back reached the end zone in the Big House.
Western Michigan’s La’Darius Jefferson tied the game at 7 with a two-yard touchdown in the first quarter of the Week 1 matchup at Michigan.

Jefferson played at Michigan State in 2018 and 2019, totaling 280 yards and four touchdowns. Last season for Western Michigan, Jefferson amassed 624 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 104 rushing yards, good for fifth in the MAC and 22nd in the FBS.
While in high school, Jefferson was Michigan Mr. Football, Gatorade Player of the Year in Michigan, and the Associated Press’ Division 3-4 Player of the Year.
