In the first look at this year’s MACtion, we saw a bit of Michigan State.

On Wednesday, former Spartan running back LaDarius Jefferson checked into the game as a running back for Western Michigan in the Broncos’ opener against Akron.

When Jefferson announced he was heading to Kalamazoo, it was presumed that he would miss the 2020 season due to transfer rules. But as the tweet above mentions, Jefferson asked for immediate eligibility and apparently got it. So far, things are off to a good start as he has 59 yards rushing at the end of the first half.

Jefferson left East Lansing after joining the team with high expectations. A former Mr. Football in Michigan, he rushed for 280 yards and four touchdowns over two seasons with the Spartans.

It appears that things didn’t work out for Jefferson in his stint at Michigan State. We’ll see what happens as he takes on the MAC.
